Customer Review:40 Amp Plasma Cutter with Built-In Air Compressor

This plasma cutter FAR exceeded my expectations.

I have owned Miller, Hypertherm, ESAB, and even Chicago (harbor freight) plasma cutters. This one performs as well as any of the others, perhaps just shy of the Hypertherm because that one was a 60A unit. I have used it for up to 1/4” carbon steel so far and it has performed great. Perhaps the only disadvantage is that with the onboard compressor, you can’t hook it up to shield gas for cutting materials like aluminum. This probably is not a big deal for most users. I love that I do t have to hook a compressor to this because it has meant that I could run it off of a generator, far away from my normal work space. The performance considering the price point is exceptional, even better than my cheaper HF cutter but without the need for air. The ground clamp and power cord are short compared to Hypertherm but you can always upgrade. I made a 50ft 220v extension cord and new/better ground with a 20ft lead. For those looking, consumables are also available on Amazon. I have looked into adapting more readily available consumables with a different torch and will report back.

powerful compressor-powered plasma cutter

I got this plasma cutter for my welding shop because i don’t always have access to gas for cutting torches and welding. I was pleasantly surprised by the power that this thing can produce. I regularly cut ½ inch steel plates with this cutter and generally have no issues as long as you have a good ground connection. Cuts are very clean and do not smoke as much as a traditional cutter.

Pretty powerful little machine!

The 40 amp Plasma cutter with built-in-air compressor is a very nice tool to have! I wish I had remembered to take a video of my partner cutting up a piece of sheet metal with it, as it really seemed to work good, and he said it’s a very good piece of equipment to have in the shop. He said it works well, and will cut through 1/2 inch thick steel just fine. For the price of $450, it is a good value and exceeded his expectations.

P.S. I received this product as part of Amazon’s VINE program but this in no way affects my opinions or review of the product. We are required to try the items out and give honest feedback related to our own personal experiences with the products we receive. If I have any issues after leaving this review, I will come back and update my review to reflect this!

Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope it helps!

Seems to be a really great unit

I have not been able to use this yet, as I do not have a 40 amp outlet installed. I only have a 30 amp. But the few friends that have experience with plasma cutting, whom have seen this, said it is a really nice unit. I am looking forward to getting it in use and seeing what I can create.

EXCELLENT MACHINE!

Works great, it’s built a little cheap but you won’t likely find anything better for the money. Cut through 3/8 steel plate without a problem if you take your time. First machine was faulty but the replacement was sent out fast and hasn’t given me any issues.
